The PWP2 applies a small, controlled current to a pair of electrodes made of a silver and copper alloy. These electrodes are set apart from one another in a cell that is fitted after the pool filtration. Electrolysis occurs as the water passes over the energised electrodes, producing natural silver and copper mineral ions. The silver ions attack bacteria in the water and the copper ions inhibit the growth of algae. As ionisation is not affected by temperature, the PWP2works well in both hot and cool climates.
